It all began in 1950

At the age of six, Umberto Pezzella was already working as a small helper in a shoe factory. As a teenager, he began learning the craft of sole milling.

By purchasing a few machines on installment, in 1974 he founded a small workshop together with his wife.

Like Umberto, Raffaela also worked 16 hours a day, and in a short time their hard work led to the creation of a small production of high-quality women’s shoes.

During the 1980s, the Pezzella business experienced remarkable growth, eventually becoming a small workshop equipped with a production line where different craftsmen worked together.

In 1998, after more than twenty years of history, that small workshop became a true company led by Umberto’s sons, Tamino and Modestino, under the guidance of Raffaela.

Keeping pace with the times while preserving its traditional craftsmanship, today Calzaturificio Fratelli Pezzella produces footwear that meets the highest quality standards, respecting all the strict requirements of 100% Made in Italy and exporting its creations to almost all parts of the world.

With custom studs, exclusive accessories and highly refined craftsmanship, Metisse shoes express a strong personality by combining bold and edgy design with premium materials such as Italian cowhide leather, natural finishes and traditional Italian artisanal manufacturing.

Embroidery, laser detailing, stones, pearls and distressed finishes complete a new aesthetic that appears to be the natural answer to a market demand that had long remained unheard.
